The Bowie Animal Shelter is open Monday-Friday from 8am-4pm by appointment with the Animal Control Officer, Willy Conway, who can be reached at (940) 841-1425.

There are volunteers that keep the shelter open on the 1st and 2nd weekends of the month.  On Saturday you can visit us from 8am-3pm and on Sunday from 9:30am-2pm.  The Friends of The Bowie Animal Shelter are there at various times for different reasons....and if you ever need someone, and there is noone at the shelter, all you have to do is call!  You can find all the officers contact information on our Volunteer page.  If you have questions about our pets you can contact us and we will be glad to assist you.  You can see our pets on Petfinder.com by searching zip code 76230. It will show all pets available and any details about the animals that are known.

Our adoption fee is $20.00 and when you adopt you will sign a contract that says you will get a rabies shot and spay or neuter your pet within 30 days.  Under Section 2.812 of the animal control ordinance "the animal control officer shall keep the statement (contract) on file and, upon failure to receive proof of vaccination and spay or neuter within thirty (30) days, shall file a complaint with the municipal court."
