Home Bowie Animal Shelter The Bowie Animal Shelter is owned by the City of Bowie and operated under the Bowie Police Department. Willy Conway is the Animal Control Officer.
The Bowie Animal Shelter's mission includes protecting citizens from stray animals, placing animals into loving, permanent homes, educating the public about the importance of spay and neuter responsibility, and to help bring about a time when there are no more homeless animals.
We have many volunteers who plan fundraisers for the shelter. There are 2 volunteers who work the 1st two weekends of the month to have the shelter open for adoptions. Other volunteers are there at various times and can be reached by phone at any time. We also have a Jr. Volunteer program for children that is held on the 3rd Saturday of every month.

Your donations are tax deductible as we are a non-profit group. Receipts will be provided upon request.
To donate a bed to the shelter look for Friends of the Bowie Animal Shelter at Kuranda.com....go to shop and then look up our shelter id 622....or just click on the icon below! We use them because they are comfy, easy to clean and keep sanitary! We thank you and the pups thank you! Our dogs love to sleep on Kuranda Dog beds, but we don't have enough for everyone. If you would like to donate a bed at a special wholesale price for a another dog to sleep in comfort, please donate a Kuranda dog bed.
To donate a gift card go to petfinder.com and follow directions to donate a giftcard to petco for the shelter. To send an Online Gift Certificate good for food, shelter supplies or toys from PETCO.com: Search for the animal welfare organization you want to support Copy the email address of the organization you'd like to support from the list below, then, Click over to PETCO.com and send an Online Gift Certificate using the shelter's email address. Please Note... when you check out you will be asked to enter the physical mailing address of the shelter. If you do not have the mailing address you may use your own address and the Gift Certificate will still reach the recipient as the Gift Certificate is sent to the shelter via email. For groups without a public email address gift cards will be sent to outreach@petfinder.com and Petfinder will contact the organization directly.
